Summertime is classic Gershwin tune that was written in 1935 as part of the opera Porgy and Bess. It is widely believed that "Summertime" ties with the Beatles' "Yesterday" as one of the most often covered songs in popular music, with an estimated 2,600 different versions recorded. Ed wrote and teaches an arrangement that has a great bluesy groove. The chord changes are a bit quicker than some of the other songs in the series, but the pay-off is worth the challenge.
