DescriptionThis is the sixth lesson of Duke Robillard's Swingin' the Blues series of guitar lessons. The goal for this series is to transition a player familiar with standard 12 bar blues to more melodic and complex jazzy blues / swing playing. The series first focuses on jazzy blues and swing rhythm guitar to lay a solid foundation and then teaches passing chords, comping, riffing, double stops and lead guitar. The series ends by putting all of the new knowledge to practice in three songs: Swingin' with Lucy Mae, Lester Leaps In and Moten Swing.

Lesson 6 focuses on learning the series first full length song: Swingin' with Lucy Mae.  This is a self taught section that puts to use the techniques discussed in the previous five lessons and covers a total of eight choruses (128 bars) of fully transcribed solos with synchronized video.
