The goal for this series of lessons is to give you a comprehensive overview of some of the greatest blues players of the twentieth century, by one of the greatest blues guitarist of the twentieth century: Duke Robillard. Blues A Rama is Duke's tribute to 10 of his influences, plus a one final lesson on Duke's style. Duke talks about each artist, what makes up their style and finally, how he interprets their work from his own unique perspective.
After successfully completing the series, you will be well versed to solo in a variety of styles. You will not only know the notes, but more importantly have insight into the essence of the these solos and learn the phrasing, right and left hand technique from a living master. Who you will learn it from
The lesson are taugh by the legendary Duke Robillard. Duke has won four W.C. Handy awards for Blues Guitarist of the Year and has been nominated for a Grammy. He's recorded with, played with, or produced many of the most important artists of the last several decades, including Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Ruth Brown, Johnny Adams, Jay McShann, Jimmy Witherspoon, and the Fabulous Thunderbirds, among many more. With 20 albums under his own name and many more as guitarist, Duke has achieved a tremendous musical legacy. In addition to his artistic accomplishments, Duke is also one of the great teachers of the past twenty years. He contributions have included numerous DVDs, books and live masterclasses throughout North America.
